The tour was a rousing success!
Right here you'll be reading about what the Redman's saw, did and accomplished on their European Tour.
The preliminary info that we've gotten so far is AWESOME - FANTASTIC - INCREDIBLE -- but you'll hear directly from Michael upon his return about all the great things that he and Cinda and the East-West Duo did in Paris, Spain and Austria!
Here's a brief update from Michael himself as they finished their final days of the "EAST MEETS WEST PIANO-DUO" Musique Europe 2010 tour:
After Cinda and Lena's 2 successful concerts in France, we drove through a whirlwind tour of Normandy, Mont St. Michel, 3 days near the Spanish/French border at friends' beach home, with a quick Barcelona visit.
Then, on to a fast few hours' visit of Monte Carlo, quick overnight in Genoa enroute to a HOT-HUMID-STICKY (BUT UNCOMFORTABLE!) overnight and exposure to amazing Venice! Wow---"Perfect timing" as we experienced a huge (but ENDLESS) heat wave in Europe for the last week!
The weather finally COOLED (WHEW!) as we arrived in charming, musically-historical Salzburg for the ladies' final week of Master Classes and concert with longtime USC friend and world-class pianist Daniel Pollack.
This entire tour-of-a-lifetime was packed with more memories than this brief overview allows us to share. The people of each country have been wonderfully-friendly, welcoming, and patient with our mixture of extremely-limited attempts at French-Spanish-Italian-German-English.
Other than a large number of U-Turns and directions confusions-mistakes, there have been relatively-few major challenges! We made many new friendships along the way with fellow-travelers and natives alike.
They all returned home to Vancouver and to reality last Saturday night and they all are very grateful to everyone who has played a role in allowing us to plan and implement this tour. Many thank you's were extended to all they encountered and to all their fans for support, encouragement, and prayers.
Michael and the entire clan are ooking forward to sharing more details and photos with you soon.
